The PlayPod is a structure meant to offer opportunities for spontaneous, unplanned play. An organic form echoing nature's seemingly random sculptures — a cross between a cave and a marine organism — manufactured from recycled marine gear through robotic-arm 3D printing.
The piece invites children to write their own play narratives while making the case for plastic recycling and circular production. Developed as a Master's thesis, it was presented at the Guiltless Plastic 2021 exhibition in Milan; the first large-scale installation stands in Chaidari, Athens.
