Poro is a biocomposite made from natural sea sponge offcuts — a byproduct of Kalyspongea's sponge processing — bound into a moldable, foam-like material. Developed to replace petroleum-based foams across product design, acoustic absorption, and cushioning applications such as shoe insoles.
Density, firmness and stiffness can be tuned within the same base material, and it can be produced as flat sheets or molded to form. An ongoing collaboration with Kalyspongea, the process is patent pending in Greece.
